So I just called to do the $40 DVC online tour and the lady that I spoke with was explaining how they like to call the DVC, the "refillable mug" deal... pay for it once and use it for years to come. She said that you can bring your mug back 15 years from now and refill it. lol... it just made me laugh knowing all the drama that is brought up on these boards by that mentality and having an actual employee of Disney telling me to do something like that. (FYI: we always buy a new mug when we go... lol)

But yes, that was so quick & painless & $40 on the way, yippee!

Oh that is too funny! I think I would have corrected her, lol.

If the people selling you DVC points are so inaccurate about things, consider how accurate they may be about their product. I overheard a Guide (DVC speak for sales person) tell a guest that the sleeper sofa in the studio was a queen sized sleeper sofa.

She wasn't the one actually giving the tour, she was just transferring me to a guide. Maybe I should have corrected her but I have a hard time confronting someone who's giving me free money, lol...

That's actually really funny. I wonder if that is in their script? I got the card in the mail about the $40 deal, too, and I may call just to see if I get the same schpiel! How long did you have to stay on the phone?

Total time I was on the phone was just under 20 minutes. They didn't even have me go online for anything so I don't know why it's called an "online tour" :confused3 He just explained how it works and asked about our past trips/upcoming trips, got my info and that was it. Worth $40 :)

That is too funny. Though since you have to pay maintenance fees it is like buying a new mug for every visit ;)

Of course, you do realize once you give them your information that they will contact you... Forever! I finally succumbed to the offers and purchased 50 points. One of the best moves we ever did.

I thought the lowest you could buy was 100 points? 50 would be a great deal and I would probably consider that. But just the maintenance fees alone cost what we would pay normally for a resort... I'm just not sold on the idea :confused3

I was on the phone for 45 minutes! I got the catalog today along with the CD via Fed Ex, but no gift card. Does this come separately?

I am not sure if they are always offered but we purchased a 50 point package from DVC. No third party, no resell. I can pass my guide's name on to you in PM if you are interested.
