From all you experienced ' movers', I'm hoping you can answer my question. While we've been to WDW many times and rented points before, this will be our first adventure into combining regular room reservations (3 nights at POR Riverside) and a 5 night DVC point rental at OKW.

So on Sunday we'll be moving 12 people from 3 POR Riverside rooms to 3 OKW Studios. We'll also be getting the DDP with our point rental at OKW.

How do you suggest we proceed with the move? We will be having cars available to move our own luggage, but when should we check in to OKW esp. to take full advantage of the DDP on Sunday? Should we go over like 10am ish? Or first thing or wait till later? I hate to wait till 3-4pm because then we don't have DDP available till then.

HELP! I never done a move while staying on property and have no clue what the best/most expediant process is.

Moving is not the proble..it is really easy. The hassle is packing up your stuff to move. We have done this many times. We pack up and are out of our room by 11. Go over to the other resort..check in..get our room keys along with DDP. We then proceed on to the park. Disney called us the last time on our cell phone to let us know our room was now ready and the room number. It was REALLY simple.

I'd take a small group over EARLY the morning of the move and get "checked in". That way you'll have access to the DDP from that point on even if none of the rooms are ready, anything after 6 am should be fine. IF you plan to go out that day, pack up the cars and either leave all there are with bell services depending on whether you had cold items or not.. If any of the rooms were ready, I'd put all the things there.

Thank you for the suggestions!

I guess we'll probably head over after breakfast to get a jump on the DDP. We'll have a cooler, will just put the cold stuff in the cooler till we can get into our room.

Thanks again!
Jeanne

Just be aware that check-in for DVC is after 4PM, not at 4PM. So it could be as late as 5 or 6 pm depending on the occupancy at the resort. You might be able to get one studio, but not the others. You can leave your refrigerated items with Bell Services to keep cool while you go to the parks.
