Yep - GMTA - I thought that when I put it there, but it was the only 1 CLOSE to what I was thinking. And I HAVE personally used it for "its' other meaning" before.

A canal connecting the resort to Epcot is also rumored.

That looks to be very difficult for several reasons:

• The intervening roadway, Buena Vista Drive, is on grade thereby blocking any canal going directly across to Epcot
• Even if they were to find a way past this, where would you enter Epcot? A third gate somewhere behind America?
• There's a circumferential road behind all the World Showcase countries that would also get in the way
• If they instead considered building a canal over to the small body of water outside DHS so that they could then follow the same route as the current Epcot/DHS boats, they also have a problem with the automobile entrance to DHS from Buena Vista Drive near BW.

I'm sure the Imagineers could overcome those obstacles if they wanted to, but I think it much more likely that bus service (which would be needed for the MK and AK anyway) is the expedient way to resolve the transportation question.

As others have said, this rumor has been going around for a while. If it does come true, I don't see the price per point going down significantly. Any change in pricing of the resort would probably be in the points per night. If they had Studios starting at 5-6 points a night and a minimum purchase of 50 points, The initial buy in would be cheaper than now and the "typical" moderate DVC member wouldn't own enough points for a long stay at the Deluxe DVC properties. The trouble could be people from the deluxe resort spending down to stretch their points further.

That's what I think would happen .... maybe make it enough so that you could buy in here and maybe two years worth of points would be enough to stay at a deluxe vs here or something

I guess they wouldn't mind if the Deluxe "spent down" as they would either stay longer or maybe have multiple trips
