DVC Cash discounts

I have a BCV 2 bdrm booked on cash through MS for the night of May 31, 2008. Any chance discounts will be available down the road for this time of year?

The rest of my reservation is on points, but I was 1 point short of the number needed to complete the trip.

Nothing left to borrow? You could beg for a point from the rent/trade board. DVC cash rate will never be discounted. The CRO rate could be, but then you would have a separate reservation and you might have to change rooms.

I would call MS weekly to see if they release any 25% member discount rooms. I have had luck with several resorts including the Beach club especially for Friday and Saturday nights.

Keep in mind that the dedicated 2 bedroom units with 2 queen beds in the second bedroom are not available for cash. The ded 2 bd with 2Q is a separate booking category from the the other two types of 2 bedroom units at the BCV (ded with 1 Q & a Q sleep sofa in 2nd bedroom, and lockoff 2 bdrm, which has 1 Q & double sleep sofa in the studio portion).

Make sure your cash reservation and points reservation "match" so that you don't have to move.

IMHO, there is a chance that a discount will become available for that Saturday night. Hope it works out for you.

Aren't the DVC cash rooms always discounted for DVC Members? Is the normal discount 25% or are you speaking of a special discount? We needed a room for 1 night and found that the DVC discount was less than the AP discount through CRO.

No, they are somehow made available for cash discount. Don't know what the criteria is, but we too have been pretty lucky when we needed one. Can't expect to get a discount though.
