Seeing you mention now that you have a son, I really wouldn't dismiss 1 bedrooms. As your child gets older (think teenage years), you may want your space. And even if you don't cook, having in-room laundry is priceless. As well as a separate bedroom for naptimes / early bedtimes.

yeah we looked at some 1 bed today and actually I do think they might be something we would like in the future, but wouldn’t be able to afford that many points right now. So would likely get enough for studios for now and once a he’s a bit older (only 2 now) then move into 1 beds with a 2nd contract

I guess my issue is that for the most resorts a 1 bed is more than 2 studios, which really stings (I know it’s different as the kitchen etc. But still seems steep!)

Unfortunately if you get 2 studios there's no guarantee they'll be close to each other on any given trip. They'll do their best but there's no guarantees. At Boardwalk that could mean an incredible walk. At Saratoga it could mean you're several bus stops away.

I agree with this line of thinking. We bought originally with the idea of staying in a studio. We added on resale with the idea of more 1BRs as the kids got older. More space to spread out, washing options, and easier to reserve most of the time.

And don't forget that first trip your son wants to bring along a friend...... it's going to happen!
