DVC buybacks of existing contracts

It appears to be a sellers market right now for BWV and OKW resales and to a lesser extent HH and VB. In this market DVC probably has not exercised their right of refusal to purchase very often. However with BWV and OKW sold out and the fact that the documents allow DVC to own 4% and the members 96%. at some point, DVC will have to sell those points they have purchased. It would seem that they would have to have a wait list (which posters have said is now discontinued)or announce to the present members the opportunity to purchase the points. What do you think?

I don't think Disney is holding on to alot of points right now. Since they are selling so high, I don't believe they are buying any contracts. Maybe they will when VWL sells out.

Another option is that DVC is breaking up "bought back" contracts into small add ons that the guides are selling to customers who have requested such small items. There may not be a waiting list, just an informal process.

well I hope if points do come Disney's way and they are selling them I hope my guide remembers me.

When I talked with my guide yesterday about an add on at Vero, he informed me that he had double checked with his manager about the wait list for Boardwalk add ons, and he said that they are discontinued. And they have removed the names on the list and if points do become available somehow though buy back or what ever, Disney will not resell them to the public. Now if this statement is true or not, I don't know, this is just what I was told.

So needless to say I was very disappointed to hear this news, oh well there is always hope that a resale will become available for me.

Our guide in March said that currently Disney is holding 2% of the points in OKW and BWV. This is the minimal allowed under the offering statement. The 2% allows Disney to full fill any unforseen events, and upgrade and maintain the rooms.
