DVC Booking Error?!?

Can somebody explain to me how Aulani 1 brdm standard rooms show today (10/6) available but not tomorrow (10/7)? Don't you need to have today booked in order to book tomorrow? See the attached picture.

It looks like you are looking 7 months out?

Owners at AUL can book whatever they want between 7 and 11 months out.

7 months it doesn't matter like at 11 due to owners being able to book those dates anytime.

People also walk reservations so that day out might look more packed than previous days because more folks are holding onto it.

This isn't a case of walking...walking at 7 months isn't nearly as likely, especially for a 1BR, and it would show the current date as not available rather than a future date.

I completely agree that Aulani owners can book at the 11 month window but this seems strange they would grab dates 1 day in the future of the 7 month window. Maybe I need a tin foil hat.

It's just a hole in availability like the 28th also has.

The hole in availability happened this morning at calendar open up time 8am eastern. Just makes me wonder is all.

When we are within the 7 months window then anything can happen and its not similar to booking issues during the 11 month window.

This is most likely due to that more AUL owners are checking into AUL on the 7th or already holding a room for that date compared to the 6th where more are checking out.

Could also be that AUL have taking 1 or more rooms out for maintenance.

Yep, an owner can walk in front of you any time they want. you take your chances booking at the 7 month window because we don’t know what each days inventory is. Monday could have 20 rooms available, while Tuesday has 1 room available, then Wednesday could have 30 rooms available. That first person will get all three, and everyone else will get stopped from booking.

Also even at 11 months, there can be future holes if there's a fixed week owner's reservation in place.

This happens all the time with many resorts. You would think that by this close to 7 months it’d be clearer. But I myself have down this where I grabbed a night a few nights into my trip within home resort priority in hopes to snag the first few with non home resort points.
