DVC booked and now free dinning

Okay dumb question for the day...
I have DVC book at SS for Oct for a week. My aunt is giving us her points.
we are buying our Hopper tickets and were purchasing the dinning plan.
Well now they are offering free dinning. Is there a way I can take advantage of this while staying as a DVC memeber- like paying for 1 night myself or something.???

Call but I don't think you'll be able to book it. You would have to pay for each member of your party if you are eligible.

Thats what I mean if I paid for 1 night of our stay and bought tickets for each person in our family -which I have to do anyway would that get us the free dinning.

You'll have to call or have your aunt call member services. Disney changes their rules from time to time, so it's hard to know for sure what the policy is right now w/out asking a CM.

No, sorry. The free dining is only available on package deals-you have to book a room (at full rack rate) and also get at least a 1 day park pass to get the free dining. Staying on DVC points doesn't qualify.

You only get free dining for the number of nights booked (that you are paying OOP for). If you book only one night, you can only have FD for 1 night, but I think the minimum number of nights you have to book for FD is 3.

If you are getting to stay at the DVC resort for free (aunt gave you her points), you are saving way more than paying for the room and getting free dining. Unfortunately, you can't have both a free stay and free dining.
