Dvc & Atlantis under a new contract if so when can we start booking the Atlantis and info would be great...

According to the DVC Member Web site you can already book Atlantis. This is the info that is on the web site:

Atlantis, Paradise Island, Bahamas
This imaginative luxury resort immerses guests in a "lost undersea world." Disney Vacation Club Members can begin booking this resort on September 27 for travel beginning October 4, 2005.

We booked a trip there. My wife had seen a documentary on it on the travel channel about a year ago. She looked up the room rates on the internet and her fantasy bubble burst. How great when I heard it was available. I booked through MS. Really easy. I told them what I'd like and when, they said I'd know within 2 business days. I called MS on the third day and was told they were just going to call me and everything was a GO! Yippeeeeee! We are going for 4 nights, Dec 4 -7.

I'll do a trip report when we return.

I think $95, right? Because it's in the concierge collection.

There goes my booking for 1 night on points while DCL cruising theory :guilty:

What is the room occupancy limit? We've got 3 kids. Can one room hold us or do we need two?

Thanks!

Are the points for Atlantis per room or per person. i thought that this was an inclusive resort. Just shows you what I know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :confused3

per room. Atlantis is generally not all-inclusive, though they do have an all-inclusive add-on you can buy. I don't know if you can buy it when going through DVC or not.

The food at Atlantis makes Disney dining look cheap!!! We stayed there at the Harborside, thank goodness!!!! If it was just myself and DH, I would stay at Atlantis itself. If I was going with the kids, I would book into theharborside. Trade points with a owner! Bet it could be done, and have the timeshare.

I figure that it was $75 or $95 plus for me 61 points. when you think about it 61 points x $10 = $610 dollars plus $95 = $705. when i can book atlantis thru atlantis for with tax $403. or take my chances and book a day room upon arrival if available. Or hold out and see thru travelzoo , they adv. dec. 1- 25 $99 a night at atlantis. I am looking for jan. date.
hmmm what to do, what to do.... :confused3

wdwstar I know it does seem to be more expensive than just getting a room directly through Atlantis. Good Luck with your decision.

We were originally planning to go end of June via points. I just like the convenience of using my points and not having to dish out additonal cash for vacations, whenever possible. Then I found out my dh's week off is July 4th week, instead. That is more points at Atlantis for that week. After long discussions, we decided to just do WDW again and maybe try Atlantis next year. We have AP's and DDE for this year.

disnutt: From what I have read it does seem that rooms only hold up to 4 people. I do not know if cots are available, though. I only saw that the Beach and Coral Towers have 2 double beds or 1 King and the Royal towers have 2 Queen beds or 1 King. We only have 3 in my family, but the thought of dh and I on a double bed for atleast 4 nights, did not thrill me. Maybe someone else here knows whether a cot is available, but even so the Royal towers would probably be best for a family your size. Good Luck. :flower:

They don't have an actual ALL INCLUSIVE you can buy, but they DO have two meal plan options you can buy (Gourmet Meal Plan, $92 per adult per day, $40 per child per day and Full American Meal Plan, $72 per adult per day, $32 per child per day). Everyone in your party needs to book the same meal plan.
