DVC at Polynesian?

Can you fill me in on what happened with Vero Beach.

The story is that it was originally planned to be a much larger resort. But initial sales were not good and they downsized the project.

I suggest nothing is definite with Disney until it is completed (thinking of Vero Beach). And they are notorious for taking something they shelved and coming back to it years later.

yea not to mention HH - it was also surpose to be a lot bigger.

they sold the land at VB - not sure about HH.

the cm's at the resort told me that Disney had brought land at the beach to be in development but since the originally HH did not sell like Disney wanted - that was cancel.

trying to remember the plans that I saw back in the 90's at DVC (OKW) and don't really remember the actually plans.

they had both VB and HH in those box things like they did the treehouses then.

I just don't know where they would have bought, everything on both sides of the Beach House already belonged to Palmetto Dunes, and was developed. They were doing good to get that piece for the Beach House.

Yes offsite, DVC has had a very low % complete record, onsite most of what real information has been found has come to be, we will see with River County and Poly (not to mention the Venitian site and the piece across the highway from HS as undocumented possilities).

the land was behind the beach area - but definitely close - so walking distance to the beach - vs - over the mile where HH is located. Now that was what i got told.

My guess is that Ft. Wilderness will happen after GF.

Ft Wilderness would allow Disney to continue the two pricing model that they have used the last few years. Based on wdrl's numbers at DVCNews.com, AKV has around 1.9 million points remaining. That's not a tremendous number when you consider DVD averages over 2 million points per year for WDW/VB/HH properties.

On June 5th, they were flying more site balloons at the Venetian property. One of them was fairly close to the monorail (guessing 5 stories high). Additionally, there were several workers along the beach/woods area there.
It would be great if they stuck to Walt's concept of a Venetian resort.

Now THAT would be cool. Disney would do a great job with a Venetian style property!

But I would love a crack at a Poly DVC. GF DVC holds no interest for me. But that's what's cool about DVC. Everyone has their preferences!
