DVC at Christmas

What are some of the special things that each DVC Resort does at Christmas? Pictures and descriptions would be awesome.

Sorry don't have pictures but here are some of the activities during the holidays at SSR, Dec 2008:

12/23--- 5pm to 7:30pm Celebrate the holidays with Disney Characters in the front lobby.

12/24--- 5pm to 9pm Don't forget to visit Santa Clause in the front lobby.
and Disney Characters from 5pm to 7:30.

12/31--- 9pm to 12:30am Ring in the new year at High Rock Springs Pool. Join us for bingo and other activities as well as a few other surprises. On the Rocks Pool Bar will be open late for refreshments and light snacks.

There isn't much extra that DVC does or even can do at Christmas simply because WDW itself simply overwhelms you with everything during Christmas and there is really not much DVC could add (for example, those extra character meetings noted above are really going on at all resorts and are for everyone at the resort). If you have not previously been at Christmas time, prepare to be amazed with decorations, special events in the parks (everyone must see Osbourne Lights, I insist upon it), stage shows that change to Christmas themes, extra character meets at the resorts, sometimes unexpected musical groups and singers in the lobby, etc., etc., etc. Except for the crowds during Christmas week, which are huge, there is no more amazing time at WDW than Christmas time (and most things are there all of December).

For example, the Boardwalk gave out roasted chestnuts on what I call the Great Lawn and the Grand Floridian had cast members come out to sing carols. No idea what they will do this year but when you check in, ask for an activities sheet. They also did a DVC gathering in front of the International Gateway at EPCOT where they passed out cookies and had some fun and games. Here are a few pics.

The holidays are a great time to visit the mouse. Lots of stuff to do in the parks and at the resorts. Wish we were going this year.

The bride in Cinderella's Coach is me, we were married 12/27/07. That is really cool that someone I don't know has a picture of me. You really don't want to know how much it cost. It was worth every penny to have the wedding of my dreams. We will be spending Christmas and our anniversary in Disney world for the next 50 years. Hope you and your families will as well.

Sorry to highjack the thread but NO WAY! That is so cool. I hope you don’t mind that I posted the picture. There are a few others if you are interested.

No matter what was spent, we enjoyed the processional. I kept looking at you and at my then 14 YO daughter thinking her time will come. Too soon I might add. We had the choice to go to EPCOT to ride Test Track or participate vicariously at your wedding and she wanted to wait. We saw you exit the carriage and the start of the ceremony. It looked beautiful.

Here is to many happy anniversaries for you and your spouse.

We were at SSR last Christmas!

On Christmas Eve we met Santa in the lobby, NO line for him, we got a great family picture! There were cookies and drinks out. Also there was a vocal group there singing carols and invited the kids to come up and join them. Two of our boys did and they gave all of us little bells and candy canes. It was fun!
