DVC at Christmas time...

Is it hard to get reservations in December?
We are just buying our DVC now and were wondering if we would be having problems making reservations for December for the seven months out?

I would suggest that you make your ressies as soon as you are allowed at your home resort. (You stated in another post that you just bought SSR.) If you are wanting to stay somewhere other than SSR, you can try to make ressies where you want to stay at the 7 month window. If you are successful, you can cancel SSR. You can also waitlist at the 7 month window, if there is no availability. But if nothing becomes available at least you still have your ressies at SSR. I would think that you might have a chance at booking OKW, maybe BWV and BCV, but VWL will be hard to get.

I dont know about early December but last year there were still a few rooms left at BCV for Christmas night at the 7th month window.

We have stayed at OKW the week of Christmas 3 times. Twice we reserved at 11 month with no problem; the last time, we booked at 6 months with no problem also. I think OKW is easiest to get.

Early/mid December has become difficult, due to low points and how beautiful Disney is at that time of year. Book ASAP.

Our names just got put into the computers last week (we don't even have our manuals yet, I just kept calling after the close to see if we were in yet) and I was able to get a 2 bedroom BWV for Dec 5-10. I was told however that it was the last 2 bedroom available there. I was told there were a few studios and 1 bedrooms left. Good luck!

Just a thought (please no one get mad that I suggest this), but if you're really wanting to stay somewhere besides SSR, you could always rent points from someone who has a home resort you'd like to stay at (so you don't have to deal with the 7 month window) and then rent out some of your points to cover your cost. Just a thought. Again, Good luck!
