My husband and I are thinking of joining the Vacation club in a couple of years. The question is... we both love CBR and our kids love CBR. Can you use points to stay at CBR and if so how many points will it cost us, roughly, to stay a week over peak season? I'm not too familiar with DVC about the only thing I know is that you will need to chose a "home" resort.

Technically yes, but there is no benefit to do DVC if you want to stay at a non-DVC resort. Points are VERY pricey for non-DVC resorts, and CBR isn't even a deluxe, so it wouldn't make sense. FYI, OKW has a very similar feeling to CBR in theme, and the extra size of the units make it so much more comfortable. Believe me, once you "get it" with DVC, you'll understand why we all say that here. There is really no comparison to a moderate "room" and a DVC villa.

Thanks for the quick reply! I just asked because the kids LOVE the pirate kiddie pool area. We stayed at AKL last January and I LOVED that resort. We might have to "hop" over to check out the Kidani village and that pool. I heard that they do have some type of kids play area by the pool.

OKW has a great kids play area and a wonderful slide at the main pool. You can NOT hop to AKV pool...it's not allowed, but you CAN hop to CBR pool if you like.

Ya, I know pool hopping isn't allowed, but I'm thinking we can hop over to the resort to see it? We might have to ride over to AKL Kidani and OKW. Can you correct me if I'm wrong? Thank you!!!

You can definately check out any resort you would like. We love doing that. It is one of the favorite parts of our vacation for DH and I. That is how we 1st fell in love with AKV. I also love the Poly and would love to stay there sometime as well.

The only down side to checking out different resorts is the busses if you don't rent a car. You have to take a bus to a park and then another bus to the resort you would like to go to.

We are having our own vehicle there so I am very excited to "peek" at the DVC resorts and get an idea of pros or cons of each resort so when the time comes we will have a slight head start! I hope someday I can say that I am a DVC member :cool1:!
