Hello,
I called MS today to renew my AP. The CM I got didn't sound too knowledgeable so I thought I'd ask my question here. If I renew my Premium AP before 30 days after expiration do I get a renewal discount and the DVC discount? THe CM said that there is no additional discount and if I buy a new Pass after the renewal period it would be the same price. Is this true?

The Premium AP covers DLR & WDW.

There is no DVC discount on the Premium AP.

Actually you are referring to the Premier Passport. The Premium AP includes admission to Disney Quest, waterparks, Oak Trail, etc. I called back and it turns out that the first CM was wrong. You get the $50 renewal discount + the $125 DVC discount when you renew.

It may be confusing sometimes because according to Disney ticketing, there is no such thing as a discounted AP for DVC. It's semantics, I know, but they state that it is just the DVC AP price (or renewal price) and are clear to say there is no discount. So it's possible depending on who you ask you might get an odd-sounding answer.

I don't think they call AP renewals "discounted" either - just that there is a price for renewals and it is lower than new.

There is no renewal discount AND DVC discount - or at least that's what I was trying to poorly explain (sorry if I made that confusing when I was trying to be clarifying!). It's just a price.

The DVC AP price is $399.
The DVC AP renewal price is $354
(adults, not premium prices).

You have to renew within 30 days of its expiration.

related question - if you currently have a regular AP (non-DVC) and just became members can you renew to the DVC AP Renewal at $354 or would we have to purchase the DVC AP at $399 and then renew next year at the $354?

I'm 99% sure you can go straight to the DVC renewal price without having to buy a DVC AP first.

Renewal of an adult AP is $354 ($45 svgs), ages 3-9 is $320 ($40 svgs).
Renewal of a Premium AP is $464 ($40 svgs), ages 3-9 is $419 ($35 svgs)

Remember, that your renewal date will be your original expiration date.
