DVC AP renewal?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, so please move it if necessary....

We received the mailer to renew our APs, which are due 1/16. This will be the first time renewing them. If we renew now, does the expiration date become the date they receive the renewal, or wil it be the 16h regardless of when we renew? We want the date to be as far out as possible as to maximize our days!

If your current AP expires on 1/16, your renewal will expire on 1/16. Renewing may or may not be to your advantage, since there is only about a $15 difference between the renewal price and a NEW AP price with DVC discount. I depends upon your trael dates.

That being said, we have always renewed because or travel dates tend to fall during our renewal period.

It will be the 16th regardless, so do not renew unless it is to your advantage. what you may want to do is not renew but buy them at a later date. WDW used to allow renewals to be from the date of purchase, but no more, this is what makes renewals somewhat of a joke now unless you go the same time of year. Just one more thing WDW has cut back on over the years. I think there is a one month time period for the renewals after that you can still purchase the pass at a discount but not the renewal price.
