DVC AP renewal ???

The short question:
How long do you have to renew an annual pass? I know it takes effect on the day the old one expires.

The way too detailed question:
I have an annual pass (with DVC discount) that expires 8/11. I'll be in DW @ POFQ 7/24-8/2 on a package with dining so I had to buy a 1 day ticket. I'd like to save that ticket and apply it to the purchase of my DVC renewal AP. I'll be back in DW 9/29 for F&WF. Can I then take my old AP, DVC card and unused 1 day pass to guest services and renew my AP with DVC discount and apply the price of my 1 day ticket?

The grace period for renewals is 30 days so that won't work with your dates.

You might ask at Guest Services about renewing early????

But the price difference between renewing and getting a new one is only around $15 so you might just want to wait anyway if there is any chance you would travel in 07 between 8/11 and 9/29.

I'd take the 1 day ticket and my AP to Guest Services on 8/1/ or 8/2 and ask to renew. I'm almost 100% positive that you can renew before the actual expiration date. If not, I'd just try again on 9/29.

If neither is allowed, (I'd be very surprised if that turns out to be the case), then just buy a new AP. As BCV23 says, you'd only "lose" about $15 and then you'd have another 2 months of time on your AP. Would be worth it if you decide to travel in August or September next year.

I think I'll just get a new AP when I go for F&WF. I hadn't looked close enough at the numbers, so for about $15, I won't worry about it.

I'm trying to spread costs around for three trips and still make it not seem like much!
