I'm sorry if this has been answered.

Our DVC ap's expired on 12/7. We purchased the renewal on the phone with DVC. We used and AMEX in DH's name only. I got the confirmation numbers and linked them to each person on MDE.

The lady mentioned DH had to be there to pick up the passes as the credit card was in his name. I understand. But now DH is driving down about 5 days after DS and I fly down.

My plan was to just use the AP linked on the band until he got there to pick up the physical passes. I can use my DVC card for discounts until we have the pass in hand.

Is this plan ok, or am I wrong?

Thanks so much.

All APs and AP renewals (MagicBand, MDE or not) must be ACTIVATED with a photo ID at a guest relations prior to being used.
You can pick up the AP RFID card at that same time.
I've seen other posts where the "actual credit card" was not needed for activation/pick-up.

Thanks Robo-for the eleventy-millionth time :)

That's hopeful. I actually can bring that Amex with me, just not its owner lol.

If you have the expiring (or expired) pass, they can scan that card and pull up the renewal in the system.

Yes.

But the "have the original credit card" is a separate issue from just finding the AP info.
(Heck, they can find the AP info with just a name and photo ID...
they do that all the time to replace a lost AP.)

But, as I mentioned, they seem to not be too rigid about
needing the original credit card... especially for guests
with a past AP history at WDW.
