DVC AP question

We are currently in the process of buying dvc (resale, then direct points to supplement the contract) and my daughter's friend invited her to go along with her family next summer before our next family trip in the fall. She's 13 and can't be on the deed. Will there be any problems with DVC AP activation when she goes to the park? I think I remember our friends who bought DVC AP's before getting a voucher that they had to take to guest services. It only makes sense to get her an AP with 2+ trips in 12 months. Her friend's parents are DVC members already, but have not done AP's yet. I don't know how all this works and will call Disney to ask after we close on our direct contract, but I was just wondering if anybody had experience with this.

From reports, others have done this - i.e., arranged for a child living at their address to get a DVC annual pass. After your direct purchase points are in the system, you'll need to call MS for the procedure.

I usually buy our DVC annuals online - you can do this through MDE or the DVC Member website once you are in the system with direct points. (You can also buy by calling MS). Buying via MDE automatically links our passes to MDE and thus allows us to make FP+ reservations when the time is right. Once we arrive on site, we go to Guest Services and have our passes activated (this is when the year of admission begins). For that, we need to show our DVC Member card and a photo ID. (This is the part where you will need to get MS to tell you how your daughter can activate her pass. At 13, I assume that she won't have a photo ID and will probably need at least a copy of your digital member card). Should work out. Good luck with ROFR and the purchase.

Thanks! Good to know others have done this. I couldn't find it on a search. We passed ROFR, yay, but the sellers have a slightly delayed closing that will only be 2-3 weeks later than closings have been taking from the average here. Will hopefully be buying Direct by late October, very early November at one of our top 3 resort choices. I don't think Poly will be sold out by then and that's on the list.
I have to renew her passport anyway, so I think I will just get her a passport card added on so that she will have ID for travel. She's never been on a plane without us. Her friend's parents have given her an open invitation (her friend is an only child, so they always have room for a fourth person) and it seems to make sense without having to pay for an extra ticket for her trip. She's been to Disney enough times that I'm not too worried about her, I just didn't want her to have a problem activating the AP without us. As long as that runs smoothly, I will just be sitting home jealous in August next year while I wait for our October trip.
Thanks again!
