We have a complimentary AP from our wedding taht disney gave us which expires in OCT. We are going in DEc as first timer DVC owners.

Can we renew our wedding AP to DVC AP at the DVC renewal price? or do we have to just purchase a regular DVC AP?

I am guessing that we have to buy a regular DVC AP? but if they let us use the renewal DVC AP then it would start in Oct correct?

I think the answer would depend on whether or not the complimentary Wedding AP is available for renewal or not? I am not familiar with them so I cannot answer myself. I would tend to think that you will need to purchase a new DVC AP in this case. Guest Services will be able to assist you at the parks or at Downtown Disney with this. Good luck.

Also keep in mind that if you use a day, they will subtract the value of that day from the ticket. But it's not 1/7th of the ticket value, but the value of a one day ticket.

EG suppose you pay $180 for a 7-day ticket. You use one day. You don't get back 6/7th of the original purchase price, (where 6/7ths would be approximately $155) but would get back $180 minus the cost of a one day ticket. If the 1-day ticket costs $60 (for example), then you would get credit back of $120 for the unused 6-days.

But they have APs, Caskbill.

I don't know if you would be able to renew at the DVC price but would hazard a guess that you could. However, there is very little savings for DVC renewal as opposed to the purchase of a new DVC AP. Depending on future trips, you may be better off just purchasing new APs in December.

Happy planning!
