DVC AP Availability Speculation Thread

I was under the impression that the some of the special DVC discounted APes had an expiration date similar to what Happy Disney Wife stated above.

I seemed to remember wanting to lock in the price before the inevitable price increase, but then activate before the grace period.
This is from an email from the past:
"It's your last chance to take advantage of two incredible Theme Park ticket Offers!

You’re definitely right about that specific deal. But I do think they’re hitting up all regular passes now with the 1 year expiry- not just limited time offers. The passes I purchased were standard FL resident pixie dust pssses (which are interestingly the only passes still currently for sale).

I still have a couple of annual pass vouchers that were purchased before there was any mention of expiration dates. One of the reasons I didn't use them up was because the special DVC annual passes seemed like a better deal at the time (IIRC). I'm not sure if I will be able to scan them in to MDE account as I have had them for a little bit.
You should always be able to use old passes (& tickets). As long as they haven’t expired, they have always been honored. My sister’s family recently redeemed free one-day paper tickets that had been given out as a character’s birthday promo (I want to say Goofy?!)… they were decades old & worked without a hitch! You’re lucky to have a few AP gems tucked away!!

In the past , tickets have had a price increase in FEB. My guest is 1st week of FEB with a HUGE jump in price.

I can't believe we haven't heard anything on AP's yet. If they return in February how much do we think the price goes up?

I don’t think we will see a jump. They jumped the price when they went back on sale…I don’t see it unless they don’t resume sales until summer…then I think it will be about $50/pass,

If they resume soon, then I think they will stay the same

Huge like 10% or are you thinking higher?
expecting at least 7 - 10% average, across the board on tix & APs.

Surely, don’t like the prospects of it, however, parks are packed/demand is there. They owe it to stockholders to challenge the market.

if they overstep, easily can offer sporadic & targeted ticket specials to increase sales.

Why would they need to announce price increases on non-AP tickets? They could just quietly increase the prices for various dates in the future, and no one would know unless they had been monitoring those specific dates for some time. Implementing date-based tickets made things much easier for Disney in many ways.

Florida resident here. Received a flyer from WDW yesterday, with a QR thingy to scan. It supposedly told us to pick the best AP that fits our needs.

Needless to say…. BIG FAIL.
I received a mailing at my FL address to buy APs in November right after they stopped selling them so they definitely don’t have good communication between departments.

Why would they indeed. can’t say I’ve seen it happen for tix or APs
In the past, before date-based tickets were implemented, they did indeed announce overall ticket price increases. There were some years when they announced in advance that prices were going up and gave people some time to buy at the old prices before the increase went into effect. Then there were a few years when increases went into effect with no official announcement but with rumors from reliable sources that allowed some to buy sooner than they planned but before the increase. After the change to date-based tickets, I don’t think they’ve announced anything but increases and changes to APs. February was most recently the “routine” month for announcements of increases (I think it was August before that), thus the recent forecasts of an announcement of changes next month. But we won’t know until it happens - or not!

Cant say I remember that. Was sad when my stash of non expiring tix, multi day tix was depleted lol
