DVC AP and upgrading from undercover tourist

I have edited my pp. I was wrong about the best deal for adults. The 8 day PH & WPM ticket will save you 26 dollars.

Also, your annual pass will be backdated to the date you first use the purchased MYW ticket. So, whether you upgrade to an AP on the same day use use the MYW ticket or the 13th, the start date of your AP is the same.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what we've been told.

It used to be, if you'll visit 10 or more days in a year, the AP was a better value than a MYW ticket, not sure if that's still true. The escalating cost of adding "no expiration" has made that route less advantageous - we used to do this and get two vactions out of it.

You are correct.

We bought APs this way last December because we're going back in October. We also bought a Tables in Wonderland card, which paid for itself during the Dec. trip.

Sorry, very confused!

For a DVC AP, it says to purchase 8 PW and WPM ticket with mousesavers discount, but a later post says that if you use the water park option, then you have to get a PAP.

Does that mean you need to buy without the WPM option, or are you saying to buy the WPM option but don't use it before you upgrade?

never mind! I read the ticket thread and confirmed- ok to buy and not use the water park option and still upgrade to AP, but if you use the water park option before upgrading, then you have to upgrade to a PAP.

Thanks for the help guys! I ordered my tickets and already have them in hand! Dh is still a little skeptical of the trade-in, so I'm gonna be in trouble if it doesn't work, but don't worry, I don't give up easy:rotfl:. Can't wait to get our AP's!

I think we are going to buy the Tables in Wonderland card too. We had it when it was DDE and now it seems I can buy it at the same time/place I buy my AP's so I think it will be worth it.

OK - my math-impaired head is spinning...lol....

I currently have a DVC discounted PAP that expires July 13th. I understand that if I renew 30 days prior/post before the August deadline, that I can use my renewed pass for 15 months as opposed to 12 months, right?

Is it a better financial deal to simply renew my PAP w/ DVC discount when I return in July and get the extra 3 months, or should I just purchase a discounted UT 8 day PH and WP and upgrade after using it 1 day?

The extra 3 months on renewal sounds great, but I am trying to figure out if those extra 3 months fit into our travel schedule or not - or if they don't - is the UT tkt upgraded with a DVC discount the better route?

Does any of that make sense to anyone else? :confused3
