I hope I am posting this in the right place........
We took the DVC tour in January and then came home and decided to buy resale. During the tour we were told that DVC members get discounted annual passes. If this is true, is it only for direct purchases? How much are these passes for adults and children (age 4).
Also, a neighbor of mine has been getting annual passes for several years, and this year they recieved "an extension" by 4 months, getting 16 months for the price of 12 months. Is this typical?
Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that as DVC we get $100 off of AP's.

(We got AP's for the first time this year, and we combined our DVC discount with the Give a Day Get a Day promo they were running last year.)

As a DVC member, direct or resale, you are entitled to the AP discount. It is about $100 off for adults and kids. Here is a chart with the pricing:

There is a discounted renewal rate if you renew within 30 days after the pass expires. We have never been able to take advantage of that. It saves you about another $50. We can never get the timing of our vacations right!

I think the extended renewal has only been offered once in the last 2 years.

If you have more than 8 days planned at WDW in a 12 month period, the AP is usually a good choice.

I called DVC trying to purchase the Preimum AP with the discount. But found out the discount is only for WDW, not the one for the Disneyland here in CA .

By any chance anybody know where i could purchase discount AP for the park here in CA?

I bought mine in December at the ticket booth outside the Disneyland entrance. The DVC discount for DL is only $20 (but it costs less).

The DVC discounted pass can be purchased by presenting a member ID at any of the ticket windows.

As noted, the DVC discount is only $20 off. Renewals are already discounted by $20 and there is no additional reduction for DVC.

The standard price of a DL Premium AP is currently $459 plus tax. DVC member price is $439. Renewal price, both DVC and non-DVC, is $439.

Note that there are other cheaper annual pass options available to Southern California residents. If you're eligible, that will save you quite a bit more. Make sure you review the blackout dates and other limitations before making a purchase, though.

=) Might be getting the 2fer for $99. At least the first two visit doesn't have any block out date. Then probably upgrade to one of the AP. Thank you all for the reply!
