I know any family member living at the same address can purchase an annual pass with the DVC discount. Does the actual member have to be there for the purchase? My son will be at WDW but we will not. Will he be able to buy the pass if he has one of our membership cards? Thanks.

From my experience you would have to be with him. They check each person's ID's to verify that everyone resides at the same address as the DVC Member.

Can't you just buy it on-line? Then he would just have to show id to activate it

Just got back from Disney and asked that question, you have to be with them to buy annual passes.

I've read that in the past people have been successful doing this if they send the child with a copy of the parents member card. They can look up the account and verify that the address on the account is the same as the address on your son's drivers license.

Recent reports are stating they will require the member to be present with Membership card and ID. Seems like it is one of those rules they are now enforcing.

We had to buy single day pass for my wife because she forgot her driver lic. in the room and had to upgrade the next day when she had it. They do enforce this rule.
