DVC and renting points??

Yikes!!! I would love a 1 bdr. but a studio is okay for the three of us,so it is just 190 points or $380 extra.
Did you have any luck getting your points for August?

Unfortunately no, did respond to your post. We may skip this year if my daughter does not get into the Disney College Program, still waiting to hear.

I am currently in Afghanistan with the Army, and am planning on surprising my family this coming March, and would like to know if anyone has any points for rent for the Disney Grand California Villas.
I need the dates of March 4th to March 7th, we could stay longer if needed, but those are the dates I just need.
I have not seen my family in over a year, and will be home for only two weeks, then I have to come back and finish my tour which will be in June, so I really would like to have a nice place such as these villas to spend time with my wife, daughter of 13, son and his wife of 20 each, and my grandaughter of 1 yr 5 mos.
Please any advice or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Surprisingly there are nights available, though the points needed are 'high.' All 3 nights are available in a 2-bedroom (other configurations are possible but do not have consecutive nights available). It's 210 points for the 2-bedroom.
Of course, the availability is only as good as finding someone who has those points, but you could check the Rent and Trade board on the DVC side to see if someone has them. It's best to note that this would probably be a final transaction as it is within the 30 days that would require the points to go into a holding account and that gets into harder-to-book points later on for for the member.
