Newbie here (again) with more questions. We haven't done our first DVC stay yet. When we stay DVC will we still get a KTTW card for charging stuff to our room, park tickets, etc? TIA
Sorry Notaclue to hijack your thread, but I am also a newbie and that is an excellent question! I would like to know if this holds true for DVC members who are at GCV as well.
Your kktw will be just like the room key and will have the ability to charge it your room. The only difference is on the bottom it will say you are a dvc member. hope that helps
I like that part that it says DVC member on it, we waited so long to become members I want to make sure that everyone knows it!
MEAGON222 we are not to far from each other. I live in Tinley Park but south of I-80 so it is more like Frankfort. Always fun to find a neighbor on the boards!
Notaclue, sorry again I seemed to have hijacked your thread...
Hi we are newbies too, closed in may this year. When you give them a credit card, do they place a hold for 1500.00, so you can charge with you kttw card? That is alot of money to tie up if so.

Disney won't place a hold for ANY money on your card used for check in. The $1500 limit is just what they will allow you to charge to your room before requiring you to make a payment to continue additional charging.
Here is a copy of my KTTW card from our trip three weeks ago to OKW.
As you can see, it does say DVC and in our case, it also shows we had the DP. If you are going to allow charges to your KTTW card, you will have a $1,500 limit on the charges and the DP cost will be part of that $1,500. When you get to about $1,250, you will get a message on your room phone that you are approaching the $1,500 limit. In our case, we got there quick because we had 5 adults for 5 nights with the DP and that alone was $1,050. It was not a problem though. When we returned to our room and listened to the phone message, we went to Guest Relations at OKW, told them to go ahead and charge the current balance to our credit card. It took 2 minutes and then they start over again on the $1,500 KTTW limit.
Depends on if you are staying at a regular DVC reservation or if you are at AKV concierge level. Concierge level folks always get the gold colored cards.
Ditto what disneynutz said. Currently you have to add the DP to your reservation at least a few days before (it might be 48 hours) your arrival date and then you pay for it when you check in. You can pay for it separately or just put it on the credit card attached to your KTTW card like we did.
