DVC and DxDP payment??

Since we're going to be at WDW (AKL) the Thursday/Friday before Easter, I've decided to go with the deluxe dining plan....don't want the hassle of CS with the crowds. I have about $400 in Disney gift cards presently. When I call to add the dining to our reservation, will I be able to use those gift cards as payment?? Dining is going to be our only expense this trip...so figured I could use the gift cards to pay for dining...if that's possible.

I just read a post yesterday where someone said MS could not take more than 2 forms of payment for the DDP (so each card counts as 1) - it might have been 3, but I think they said 2.

Well, that won't work then since I have 3 or 4 different gift cards. I suppose I could use the $200 gift card and then pay the rest with a regular card. But it would have been nice to use all of the gift cards.

Did you ever think about calling the Gift card company and seeing if they will combine the Gift Cards. Some of the new ones can be reloaded. I would gicve it a try

These aren't reloadable ones. Oh well..on to plan B.

I would go ahead and try, because I was able to do it late last year. The castmember said he was only going to be able to take 2 forms of payment, and each gift card counted as one. But then he said well let me just try it, and it did work. So I used 3 gift cards and then was still able to put the balance on my credit card. It is worth a try. He didn't think he would be able to do it, but it worked.

Also meant to add that if they won't let you, you can still use the gift card to pay your gratuities.

About 4-6 weeks ago, I used 3 different gifts cards plus a credit card for the balance -- so a total of 4 cards!!-- to pay for DXDP. It was not a problem at all.

So there you go! I was going to say call MS and see what they say, since what I reported was just hearsay. So it seems that at least there are different experiences.

On our last tripe we used a whole lot more than three gift cards to pay for our dining plan. (party of six, I buy 4 $100 gift cards a month from a local school program) It was a pain, but they did it. I believe that when a CM says they can only use two forms of payment they mean a credit card and a gift card for example, but all the gift cards put together count as one form of payment. At least that is what I have heard as feedback form a few friends that have done it this way.
