DVC and Dining Plan

This is our first DVC holiday and we need help! We booked a 9 night holiday in July and would like to use only 2-3 days of Disney Dining. When I asked if we could just use 2-3 days of dining, I was told that we had to use all 9 days for Disney Dining. Is there anyway around this? Everything is already booked. The sales people were very rude and didn't want to answer or explain questions. Is this common?

The dining plan for DVC follows all the rules for non-DVC cash guests through CRO, except for the requirement to purchase a park ticket through Disney. Yes, it must be for all people in the room for the entire length of the reservation. The only way around that requirement would be to make completely separate room reservations (change resorts, change room sizes or change room category) and it would require you to move from one room to another. (standard view vs. preferred view). Unless you are willing to change your room reservations accordingly, the Dining Plan is all or nothing.
