on the cruises, the dvc has a reception. is this for anyone(we are dvc members) or just to try to get folks to sign up and by in?:p

We went on the cruise in Jan. 2003 and did not observe any special reception for DVC members. As a matter of fact we did not observe any promotion of DVC similar to the park set-up wherein appointments are arranged for the tour.

We have not been on a DVC only member cruise. However, based upon various post many members indicate it is terrific.

The cruise was great; however, I felt the point allocation was too steep since the cruise was discounted after we had booked. It was too late change to cash. Had great time and would do it again! Enjoy!!

The DVC Member's Reception is on the 7 day cruise- both Eastern and Western itineraries. There is none on the 3 or 4 day cruises.

Enjoy!

The reception is fun. We have attended it on each of our 3 7-day cruises. You get to met other DVCers and find out what is happening in DVC. We got gifts. (DVC member hats).

We were invited to the DVC party on the 7 day cruise. If was fun. Not very elaborate or anything but fun to meet other DVC on the boat. It didn't last very long. They gave away DVC hats, towels and some other stuff. We love the hats...and wear them on every WDW trip. You need to have in your reservation that you are DVC to get invited to the party.
