As a new DVC owner, I know we can get a great discount on AP's. My question is HOW the "calendar year" is calculated. Is it in the January-December time frame or is it exactly one year from when you first purchase it? Thanks!

It's based on when you activate your AP. If you call MS you will be sent vouchers and your year will begin on redemption. You can also buy them at any ticket window and show you membership card and receive the discount.

The pass expires one year from the date of activation. You can order the AP voucher in advance from the DVC web site. The pass does not expire a year from when you purchase the voucher, but a year from when you activate it at WDW.

In reality, that year is 366 days instead of 365. For example: You buy a voucher and activate it on May 1, 2007. You then are able to enter the parks any day THROUGH May 1 2008. That means it's actually 366 days.

I have a question about AP renewals....this year we bought Premium AP's for entry to Disney Quest & the water parks (to the OP - we ordered them in May & activated them in August) and they will hold us thru our planned vac. next July. We ordered them early so we could get the voucher # to use to order the DDE card too!) Anyway, we haven't decided yet about renewals - if we renew, can we switch from the PAP to the regular AP or do we have to stick to the PAP now that we bought that one?!?! Anybody have any experience with that?!:confused3 We knew we'd use the water parks & Disney Quest on our last trip so this was cheaper initially, but we probably won't use them on any trips that are shorter than a week long - so we'd probably be just as well off in the future paying entry park by park with our DVC discount when we go again - but that's a big upcharge on the PAP!
