DVC and a crazy amount of trips...

My husband and I bought DVC a few weeks ago. We bought due to having an extended family trip (9 people) planned for October 3rd-9th. We decide to get annual passes since we normally go in fall so we figure we will make next years trip in late Sept.

Then we start thinking about going for an additional week in January for my husbands birthday. Since we have the APs we figure why not since all we have to pay for are flights and food.

So now we have 3 weeklong trips planned within a year... how quickly we turned into complete disney fanatics...

For the last trip next Sept we have even been thinking of having my mom and I do a 3 day cruise while my husband hangs around in disney solo (he doesn't do water and thus has 0 interest in a cruise) then having Mom head back and me finish off the week with him...

I keep feeling like maybe we need to slow down a bit.

We went 4 times in 2008 - the year we bought DVC!

We've pretty much been in points deficit ever since we a trip in 2009 and a trip in 2010 - and one of those was even on the 4/3 deal, not with points!

DVC will do that to you. And that AP too - because "the tickets are free", right?

Enjoy your planning and your vacations! We initially bought into DVC due to a GG event as well. So many of our later trips have also been with 7 people and more. Your cruise idea sounds like a good one to me!

We usually vacation at WDW 3 or 4 times per year, 10 to 14 days each. The longer you own, the less time that you will spend in the parks and the more you enjoy that resorts and other things that Disney has to offer.

Sounds like our year. We went Dec 27 thru Jan 9th. We bought annual passes then. Then we planned on a trip around thanksgiving so we could get 2 trips on our passes. So we have Nov 13-20 booked but are considering going down on the 10th to celebrate my 35 b-day which is on the 12th. Then 3 weeks ago we added on 175 OKW points so we decided to book a last minute trip and we are going from May 26th to June 8th. Nothing like getting 3 trips out of one pass!!
