I purchased these last year. Mine are 6 day base passes. I'd like to upgrade one of them to a 7 day hopper. I know originally they said no bridging would be allowed for upgrades on these passes. Has anyone tried this lately? I'm hoping because it's been nearly a year, they won't hold to the original rules.
I know, it's a long shot. Without bridging, I'm looking at about $150 to upgrade which probably isn't worth it. I'll still probably ask at Guest Relations to see what they say. Maybe I'll get lucky?

Disney don't bridge tickets that they sell directly. The reason they bridge is because they don't know how much you paid for a ticket when you purchased it from a third party (or was included as part of a package). But when they sell it directly to you, they know how much you paid, so that's all the credit they'll give you towards an upgrade.

If an inexperienced cast member doesn't understand why it's not bridging, they may try to manually adjust the price. But that would be "pixie dust." And that's if you find a cast member who knows how to upgrade a ticket, understands bridging, but doesn't know the most basic part of upgrades. So, it seems unlikely. But one person has reported that it was pushed through for these tickets.
