There is a phone number and web page specific to this promotion, which is available on the mailers that were sent out. It's probably still a good idea to confirm with the guide about the availablity of the gift card though.
I did call the number from the promotion webpage, but it sounded like a general number - when the line was picked up, I got an automated menu with various options for both "if you want to become a member" and for members. I just stayed on the line to get an operator, as I didn't know which option to choose.
 
I called the number one time and found out that it was a clearinghouse for all DVC 800 numbers (aside from Member services) The girl told me she gets a ton of numbers to her phone. So you can call and just be sure to tell them that you are calling for the GC referal - BUT you have to make sure you tell them that (my mom told everyone she talked to) and have the referring member info.

You don't have to talk to their specific guide. They offered to have mine call my mom back and she asked to speak with someone else and they transferred her to another guide. She told them she wasn't interested in it for DVC but rather wanted info on what RCI resorts she could trade into but still have flexibility to go to Disney if she wanted to. She was on the phone 10 minutes, they emailed her info and we got the gift cards on Wed - after she called last Friday.

Also - if they know your address once you give them your name - then you are in their system - so ask if you are eligible if this happens!!

The more you know about DVC - the less time you spend on the phone!
 

DVCBELLE, I asked the same question your mom did. I was kind of surprised when I got on the phone with the guide & she just asked me what questions I had about DVC - I was expecting them to go into a whole speil explaining the program. I asked how it worked to go to places other than Disney, the guide asked if I was at a computer (I was) so she forwarded me some links & took me through the map & point charts for their other destinations. I was on the phone about 20 minutes total.
 
Is there a "must be done by" date on this? I've got my husband looking for our email now. :)
 
Took the phone tour this past Saturday and just got my gift card today, no pressure at all.

I had DH do the phone tour today since he was home today. He said when he called the guide just asked what questions he had about DVC and was off the phone within 10 minutes. Hopefully we'll get our GC next week, that'll be a free meal for us in August!:cool1:

I've called twice but apparently the rep I was referred to doesn't feel the need to call me back. The people on the phone are really nice, but the rep won't call me back :headache:
