I just did the tour yesterday, and the guide I spoke to said it can take 4-6 weeks for me to get the gift card. (Which is fine with me, we don't have a trip planned any time soon.)

When you call, make sure to mention you're calling for the referral program; the number you call is just the general DVC information number so I don't know if they'll ask about the referral if you don't mention it. The person who answered the phone took my information, then asked the name of the member who referred me. Her guide happened to be out that day so I ended up speaking to a different guide, but we will both still get the GC.

There is a phone number and web page specific to this promotion, which is available on the mailers that were sent out. It's probably still a good idea to confirm with the guide about the availablity of the gift card though.
