Duty

Have you ever thought that the word duty sounds an awful lot like "doody?" As in "I've been doing private doody ever since these snow days started." or "Answering the call of doody."

Every time my DS11 mentions Call of Duty, someone in our house says "Ha ha, you said doody." It's not so bad when it's DS6, but DH is 42 and does it!

Our neighbor's dog is named Duke but I often find myself calling him "Dookey" Then I'm like, hey, I'm calling the poor dog poop...

In my school one of our periods is called Academic Duty. We usually just say "duty period". Every time one of the boys in my class hears a teacher say that he giggles and says, "she said doody"

There is a scene in an episode of Friends where Chandler cracks a joke about duty/doody to his boss and it falls flat! I had never thought of it until I saw that episode.
