Just arrived at the beach club and the phone is disgustingly filthy which I had to use to call for my bags. Is this how the room supposed to be when you're paying $700 a night?

Is the whole room dusty and dirty or just your phone? You can always walk to the front desk to discuss your concerns. That is usually the quickest way to get something resolved.

Eww, is that really dust or scratches? Holy cow if that's dust that's disguisting. I would snap a pic and show it to the front desk and ask for mousekeeping while you're out. Someone just complained on here that their Feb BC stay was awful and the carpet was black in their room and that the elevators were gross. I guess BC is the Caribbean Beach Resort of the deluxes. That amount of dust isn't ok even at $200/nt.

Luckily we bought travel wipes with us and when we wiped it off it is way way cleaner.

In all of my vacations I have never witnessed a hotel room covered with dust and in the hotel industry when guests are checking out of a hotel the first thing housekeepers are supposed to do when a guest room is empty the housekeepers are supposed to clean the room for dust in addition to putting fresh new sheets and pillows and blankets on each bed. So I can't figure out how the housekeeper for your room at Beach Club missed cleaning the dust on your room phone. Because hotel room telephones have to always be wiped by maids to be sure that no dust or germs from other guests can't be seen. I know these things because my mother used to work at a hotel before I was born and she would always give the maids she worked with proper protocols for cleaning guest rooms safely. My advice is calling the front desk and telling them about having the dust in your room and see what they can do. Another thing you should do is try to get the name of your housekeeper and if you see her tell her you really need the room serviced but ask for her to vacuum the carpet and wipe the nightstand where the phone very clean and if all else fails tell the manager and see what the manager will do and email Disney Resorts customer service when you get home too
Hope this advice helps you and good luck Blinkycat17

Totally not acceptable especially when paying top dollar for whats supposed to be a Deluxe Hotel... Show that pic to the Front Desk or better yet ask to speak to a Supervisor

It wasn't the whole room, only the phone. A reminder is maybe needed, but also remember that humans clean the rooms, and we sometimes forget stuff.

My father managed a hotel after he retired. He would mark sheets on beds to ensure they were getting changed between guests. I suspect the sheets not being changed happens more than we would care to know, but that's probably its own thread 😂
