During WL construction, is 8 nights too many?

I'm trying to choose a resort for the end of March/beginning of April 2017, for 2 adults and 2 teens. We do spend quite a bit of time at the resort, and at the pool during the day. I'm not worried about the construction noise bothering us, but it seems to be down a pool right now, and there aren't tons of dining options by the pool other than Roaring Forks. Is 8 nights there too many? I could also do a split stay of 4 nights at AKL, and 4 at WL. A split stay isn't my first choice, but we've done it before and it's not a big deal, it just makes the change day a little less relaxing.

We've stayed at both about 10 years ago and liked both, but our kids were little and we didn't really enjoy the resorts the way we hope to now. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Admittedly, I have not kept up on the construction at WL, but is the main pool down? Or just a quiet pool?

We spent 10 nights at WL and only used the main pool and we didn't find that to be too many nights at all.

The quiet pool won't be done for quite some time.

I think it comes down to how often you want to eat at Roaring Forks vs. leaving the resort.

I don't think so.
You have Roaring Forks, Whispering Canyon Café, and Artist Point. Plus we always eat our evening meals in Epcot, or another resort,
Is the pool bar still open or is it closed?
Personally I wouldn't do a split stay. I like to unpack and settle in. If you decide it is too much time, I would choose a different resort for the whole stay this time
Good Luck

Thanks for your thoughts. I know what you mean about unpacking and settling in. Plus, a split stay means I'll need to nag everyone twice to pack up their stuff!

We stopped by WL in August, and it looked like the pool bar was open, but do they serve food?

I currently have 7 nights booked at WL CL the second week of April and I have no qualms whatsoever about staying during construction. We have an open mind about stuff like that and actually kind of enjoy seeing a bit of the before/during/after of construction.

Of the trips in my signature, arguably one of my favorites was when Poly was all torn up a few years ago - main pool was closed, a big portion of the resort was offline for DVC, paths torn up everywhere, etc. It was the best trip ever! We had the whole place to ourselves, crowds were low, at times DS had 100% attention of the pool fun/games staff (they had moved them to the then-quiet pool at the time). Wouldn't have enjoyed it if it were a once-in-a-lifetime trip but since we have been going often it was a neat experience.

Reports on the WL thread have generally been that construction is very well hidden as able and not seeming to materially impact stays. A lot of rooms are offline (at the moment) so crowds are likely lower.

Construction opinions are so subjective it's really hard to give advice, but we're going to give it a go!

Food isn't served directly from the pool bar, but you can order food there and someone will deliver it to you. They give you a number to stand on your table.

We spent 9 nights in September and would have loved to stay longer. We booked our bounce back to return to WL.

Thanks for all of the wonderful feedback. I booked it! And I know we'll love it. The low crowd, relaxed atmosphere sounds like just what we are looking for at spring break.
