Dumbo Double Dare 2015 Half Marathon! *Completed*

Day 4 - Disneyland

We didn't have park hoppers this trip. We did 8 yrs ago and we always do at WDW, but doing the 2 days at DCA at 2 days at Disneyland with no hopping worked out pretty great this trip combined with the races. So, we had a full day just for Disneyland, it felt nice to sleep in until 6:30am as Disneyland was opening at 8:00am. Ate breakfast in the room. Felt stiff, but luckily after walking around the park all day loosened up and didn't feel too bad later in the day.

It's crazy how the 2 gates are so close together. I did find it strange they didn't have a no bag line at WDW for security and the bag checker people just seemed like regular CM's and not any type of actual security people.

We were going to do Indiana Jones first, but was told it was down, so lined up to head to Fantasyland first. We had no idea Peter Pan was the hot ride here, but got caught up in the line and decided to wait it out. First thing at rope drop and it was a 40-45 minute wait. Crazy! But, then it only loads the one boat at a time. It's different than WDW so we waited it out & enjoyed the ride!

Continued through Fantasyland hitting Snow White (sad it's gone at WDW), Mr. Toad again because it's an all time favorite, skipped Alice as we did it Saturday.

We eventually went to Toontown and it was nice to see the Houses there that have vanished from WDW. Roger Rabbit had no wait so rode it twice in a row, sweet! Gadget's Go Coaster was next, I liked how the seats weren't bumpy like at Barnstormer at WDW.

Went to Autopia, my car died, but I got it back working again either from pumping the gas or holding it down, not sure what actually did the trick. This was fun.

Day 4 Disneyland Continued...

Then we got in line for River Belle Terrace on the Adventureland side entrance at about 10:45am. We wanted breakfast foods for lunch. Not too long after we lined up a CM cut the line off for that entrance. You could still use the other entrance on the Frontierland side. I'm not sure when they turned over to lunch foods. After the longish line we got our food. These were the best darn pancakes & my brother enjoyed the cinnamon roll French toast. It was worth the wait.

Posed with the Partners statue with our Coast to Coast medals as well as in front of the castle with all the medals.

Grabbed a Fantasmic FP & visited Big Thunder Ranch.

Did the canoes, some other rides & Pooh finally didn't have a long line in the sun. It's hard to wrap my head around Pooh being in Critter Country instead of Fantasyland.

Day 4 Disneyland Continued...

Grabbed dinner at Royal St. Veranda for some Vegetarian Gumbo (in a sourdough bread bowl), very tasty! Luckily a table opened up so I could sit to eat as I waited for my brother to bring his Bengal BBQ over, which he liked.

We did the Storybook Canals (I think it's cute & saw ducks fighting even) & Small World again. Then eventually went to our Fantasmic spot. Disneyland sure likes roped off areas. Fantasmic was great & our spot wasn't as stuffy as waiting for World of Color the night before.

Made our way to Main St. to watch the Fireworks. These were pretty amazing. I loved the video overlays on the buildings. Good thing my brother read they did something on Main St. or we might have stayed elsewhere to watch them & missed that part.

We did Casey Jr. then sat down near Small World to watch Paint the Night Parade. I think a lot of people at left the park as this was the 2nd showing. I enjoyed the parade, but don't get why Wreck It Ralph isn't in the parade with his song playing???? And my only other gripe is how Frozen is in Everything, I do like it, just not everywhere.

We went ahead and road Tea Cups and Astro Orbiter since the park was getting empty close to midnight (too much spinning for me at once!). Loved the castle lit up as well as all the other 60th decorations. The special Diamond photo-ops were very cool too. I think we rode everything at Disneyland, except Star Tours & getting over to Pirate Island (Tom Sawyer's) because we didn't know it closed at like 5 or so to get ready for Fantasmic. (But we had done it before so that's okay)

Left at close to Midnight and walking through Downtown to the room was pretty empty.

Ate breakfast at White Water Snacks, it was okay. The waffles seemed thicker than WDW's, maybe had some whole wheat flour in them?!?

My brother said the biscuit was dry.

A RunDisney sign leftover, awe how nice.
day5012.JPG

Waited for our Disneyland Express bus to pick us up, it was about 10 minutes late according to their schedule.
day5013.JPG

We then picked-up at the Disneyland Hotel, where they took our vouchers. Saw the tents leftover from the races.
day5014.JPG

A few pictures of the Race stuff. Coast to Coast band they put on you at bib pick up.
day5015.JPG

Race shirts, Lasting Commemoratives free bookmark, luggage tag given at bib pickup, and preordered pins (that were in an envelope I got when I picked up my bib).
day5016.jpg

day5017.JPG

The Dumbo shirt that my brother purchased.
day5018.JPG

We loved the Disneyland Races & while WDW is our 'home', Disneyland is pretty great too and would stay at the Grand Californian again! Can't beat how everything is in walking distance to each other!
