Dumb question... What airport is closest to Vero?

Not sure which airport is closest or easiest when going to Vero Beach?

The closest airport is in Melbourne, Florida. I have friends that have flown into this airport when they vacation at Vero. Their only complaint is that security is extremely strict here and everyone in their party including children were individually searched. It was probably because this was the area where the 9/11 terrorists learned how to fly.

As noted, Melbourne is closest. However, Orlando International(MCO) may be "easiest" depending on flight availability. MCO is served by many different airlines from many different cities around the country. Another plus in our experience is the ready availability of rental cars at MCO. Driving directly to/from MCO-VB takes about 90 minutes or so.
