Dumb Question I Know....How Do the Lockers Work?

Forgive an old lady's ignorance...how do the lockers work? I am particularly interested in the ones behind Market House. I know the cost is $7 ( according to the website) and I am assuming you use a credit card. Do you set a pin number? Can you access numerous times? I am thinking I want to change outfits at the park for Star Wars night...rather than waste an hour going to CCI and back, just to switch out from my skirt to leggings. Those back there would be close. Are they different sizes?

In all my years, I have never used a locker LOL. First time for everything and maybe it will become a habit!

TIA as always, I so appreciate everyone's help for all my little idiosyncrasies...😊

Perhaps this will give you some general information about lockers. I too have not used a locker. I am not sure if there is a difference between the lockers in and outside of both parks (DL & DCA).

We use lockers all the time. Yes, you use a credit card (I used to use cash but I don’t think they do that anymore). You enter a PIN number. Then it spits out your locker number. You go there, put your stuff in and close it. Keep track of your locker number (receipt)! It is easy to forget where your locker is. Yes, you can go back numerous times. When you are finished, I think there is a button to push that you are through using the locker.

I think there is a small ones are $7 and the larger ones are $11.

Just an aside, my PIN number for our lockers is always our house number. Easy to remember and no one knows my address in Disneyland.

I've only used the ones outside the park a few times to store carry on luggage on a travel day. Its been a few years but I think you prepaid for how many hours you wanted and set a pin. You paid via credit card and I think if you went over your time they would charge you more. And obviously bigger lockers cost more but the price wasn't too bad.

Thanks..just what I needed! I'm sure a small one will suffice.
I am hoping to get a pic with Kylo Ren at the Visa photo op while I am wearing my KR skirt but then switching to my Dark Side spirit jersey and SW leggings so I can be more comfortable come evening.

A few tidbits since we use them often:
  • Only takes credit cards
  • $7 for the standard/small, $10 for the large
  • When asked for the PIN you have to enter it twice (like passwords on websites). They rearrange the location of the numbers to help with shoulder surfers.
  • I often end up needing to re-enter the PIN on the locker for it to work. I feel like I am entering it in correctly, but it still blinks red. It will turn green when it works.
  • Keep that receipt just in case. Better yet keep it and take a pic on your phone just in case.
  • Create either a geofenced or time based reminder in your phone to empty your locker at the end of the night. We have forgotten our stuff before.
  • Speaking of forgetting our stuff, we did this on our last day one time and I went and filed a Lost & Found ticket the next day before we left for home. They supposedly never found our stuff which makes no sense to me. So don’t forget to unload your locker!
  • I never use the button to say I am done with the day. They offer you nothing and you never know if you might use it later. If it is at the very end of the day, it won’t benefit DL either.
Hope that helps!

I missing getting something out of our locker. Realized when we got back to the hotel. I sent in the lost & found request along with the exact locker number and like you they weren't able to recovery my item. I wish I hadn't hit the "I'm done" button because I would have gone back to get the item, as we were at a hotel across the street and Disneyland hadn't closed for the night yet.

Lost and found has been great for finding random items lost in the park but, for us, they have NEVER recovered items that we left in a locker. :sad2: Check it well to make sure that you have everything at the end of the day.

Same for us. We have had the craziest stuff found including my son’s phone that I dropped on Space Mountain (don’t ask 😳)

Exactly. It still upsets me. I wonder if the lockers are serviced by a contractor. The charge comes up as “Best Lockers” with no indication of it being Disney.
I am pretty certain they are in fact a 3rd party contractor.
I recommend that anyone who experiences this problem write to Disneyland Guest Services. It's fine if they want to contract out the locker maintenance, but the contract should clearly state that any belongings found at the end of the day must be immediately turned over to Disneyland Lost & Found. There's no excuse for this to be happening.
