Dumb question about points...

So, here it is...(I warned you, it's dumb ) If we bought a 150 point contract this year at BCV, then added on later at Saratoga Springs can those points be combined to be used at another resort? For example, can we use our BCV plus whatever we'd buy elsewhere to stay at BWV (or anywhere else for that matter)? If so, how do the use years come into play?

Yes you can use them in combination, BUT if you are booking at the 11 month window for a stay at BCV, you will only be able to use the 150 points from your BCV. The SSR points will become available to use towards BCV at the 7 month window.

Yes! If you buy a add-on or any other points they can be used anywhere. They only things is at the BVC you can make a ressie at the 11 month window, because it is your home resort. When you add-on at SS then you can make a ressie there at the 11 month window. Keep in mind at the 11 month window you can only use the points at that resort. Let me see if I can do a beeter job at this.

Let's say you add 50 points at SS and you have 150 at BCV.

You can use 150 points at the 11 month window at BVC for a ressie at BCV or 50 points at SS. You can not use 200 points at the 11 month window at the BCV or SS. You can however at 7 month window where ever you want.

Yes, points from multiple home resorts may be combined to use a 7 months. Use Year doesn't affect making a reservation at all.

As already mentioned, you can only use points from your Home Resort to make reservations at that resort 11 months ahead, but at 7 months points from all resorts are eligible to make a reservation at any other DVC resort.

You could combine points from BCV and SSR at 11 months for the cruise, other Disney Collection resorts and Concierge Collection resorts.

Though you *could* borrow from the next year and have up to 300 points to use at the 11 month BCV window or 100 to use at SS.

Additionally, with planning you could bank and also borrow to have 150 to use at SS.

Thanks so much, everyone! We're trying to figure out the hows/whys/wherefores, but we *are* going to buy into DVC. It's just a question of when and how many points.
