When I opened Word today, there are little gray squares throughout the entire blank docment. Kind of like excel with little tiny squares. Even if I open a prior document, I get lines or grids showing up. Clearly someone changed my settings. How can I change them back so a new document will be a white piece of paper instead of showing these gridlines? I'm just not that good at Word.

Go to the View tab, under the Show grouping, deselect the Gridlines option - if checked. Was that your problem?

That was it! I knew there was a gridline box to uncheck, but I couldn't find it.
