Dumb question about AAA

We've just signed up with AAA and have just received our cards. We haven't used it yet. Is it like a Books-A-Million card where you show it at the desk or something? How exactly is it used? :confused3

Here's one reason I'm wondering...trip planner has booked all our reservations but doesn't know the AP rate yet. When I called just to see, I was told the AAA rate is $84. So if we get up to the counter and the AP is more, can I just use the card and get that rate instead?

What other times (besides car trouble) can I use it?

I'm learning so much by reading these boards! I've learned things that the trip planners (veteran Disney-ites) didn't know!

Thanks everybody! :wave2:

Hi, we booked AAA through CRO (WDW central reservations) & got a great savings on our room, Ive seen posts that AAA rate is comparable to AP rate, but cant verify personally....we gave our AAA # over the phone, & CM told us to present the card upon check in.

The savings on our week at WDW for the room alone has paid for the $49 annual AAA fee (we saved approx $700 for the week) plus you also get benefits of the actual AAA membership - towing, keys locked in car, etc,etc...One point I would make though is that the CM we spoke w/ informed us that there are only a certain # of rooms blocked off & available to be booked at the discounted AAA rate & once theyre gone thats it, if you wait you risk the chance of no AAA rate rooms being available....HTH

I just joined too and there's a list of businesses local and national on their website. if you go to www.aaa.com you can find your area aaa.

there should be some info on there about where you can save. On my area's website, I can book hotel rooms. We're driving down to wdw and I just saved $20 on hotels.

good luck

I would call and ask a CM. It's the only way to get a real answer. It doesn't seem likely that you can just pick the best when you get there. The AP rates require a nonrefundable deposit, and I've heard a $50 fee to change your ressie. But never say never!
