Josie Brooklyn. Love the name.

I know a lot of people are against the Duggars and their choices. But the baby girl was born premature and only weighs 1lb 6oz.

So prayers to the Duggar family, and baby Josie.

Michelle, who has been in the hospital recovering from a gallstone, was taken to the OR for an emergency c-section. Daughter Josie Brooklyn was born at 6:27 p.m. weighing 1lb., 6 oz.

Michelle is resting comfortably and baby is stable and in the NICU for extended care. The most important thing right now is for Mom and baby Josie to get as much rest as possible. The family is grateful for all the prayers and well wishes during their recovery

I would like to think that this could be a reality check for Jim Bob and Michelle, but I actually doubt that's the truth. This is proof that at 43, her body just can't support a baby like it used to.

It's so unfortunate that Josie was born pre-mature though. I hope the best for her, and actually, I'm glad she has a big family to support her growing up, because she'll probably have health problems.

I'm happy for them. I love the name Josie, it's really pretty. I hope they stop having kids now, Michelle is getting too old. It's getting too dangerous now. I hope everything goes well for Josie and the Duggers

oh my gosh thats scary...I really hope the baby is ok (such a pretty name, I was almost a Josie lol) but thats really a scary thing for a parent to go through the baby will probably have to stay in the hospital for a really long time before she's ready to leave.

One pound six ounces sounds absolutely ridiculous and unhealthy! I don't know a lot about infants, but that really cannot be good.

I really hope this is a wake-up call for them as BabyPiglet said. 42 is a very risky age to be having children especially after having so many.
I really hope the baby pulls through.

i read an article on msnbc where, when asked if michelle was told that childbearing was no longer healthy for her would they consider family planning, and michelle replied, "prayer will be used." prayer is not a form of birth control.

yep, praying. thats going to keep her from getting pregnant.

i want to know what it will take. autism? mental retardation? a miscarriage? or will michelle have to die in childbirth to make them stop.

IMHO, it's time for Michelle to stop. If she tries again, the fate of the next baby may be dire. She's in her 40s. Be happy with the kids you already have.

quiverfuls believe that adoption is wrong, and the blood of the adopted children is impure. so they will not adopt.

honestly, i'm pretty glad they're so glaringly narrow minded. many adopted children need stability, regularity, and tranquility to fully adjust, which is something that a television show family like this just doesn't provide very well. especially if the child was previously raised...um...normally? it would be devastating to send them back in time two hundred years by making them live with the duggars. also, many agencies and the states require that adopted children have their own bedroom (same for foster care) which the duggars do not provide. also their opinion of women being educated would probably get an adoption request denied.
