I know you can see Duffy in the parks, but do you know if you can see his friend Shellie May?

She is Duffy's girlfriend. She has definitely been in DLP for a Halloween VIP thing but not sure she's been there any other time, or at WDW either

On our last visit I overheard one of the friendship boat captain's telling a little girl she is only seen in Tokyo.

No problem, thanks My baby has a Duffy Bear and I want one too - I guess this gives a good incentive to buy them outfits to differentiate

No it's not.

There is only one place you can buy Shellie May stuff, it's at Tokyo DisneySea

You can also find some on ebay, but prices are ridiculous, and there are lots of fakes/forgeries, so it's hard to tell if you'll receive a genuine or a fake one.

Some Disney fan forums have a shopping thread where Japanese users offer to go to TDS to buy a Shellie May and ship overseas. But they often have silly requirements and also charge rather ridiculous amounts (basically you need to pay for their park ticket, transportation, shipping fees, and they charge you for their time ... and tell you they don't do it for money ... sure ...)

Your best bet is to find a friend of yours (or a fellow, reliable, DISer) who goes to Japan and ask to bring one back.
