I know a lot of DISers aren't fans of Duffy. He has some fans but not many. The main problem as far as I can see if that he's not part of any canon. He's never appeared in a cartoon or movie and he's not a character in a ride (like Figment)
Duffy does have a story however which most people aren't aware of. He is a bear comes to life and helps Mickey out during a sea voyage.
If Disney produced a cartoon that ran before a new theatrical movie, similar to how Pixar now produce shorts and Disney always used to, which featured Mickey and Duffy having their adventure. That would then make Duffy part of Disney canon.
If that cartoon was produced would you be more accepting of Duffy?
