OK, math has never been my strong point. In fact, you probably wouldn't get much argument if you called me submoronic when it comes to numbers.

Having said that, I expected a fairly normal increase in dues this year...a few cents per point--more on my BCV points, less on my SSR points. But I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to the per point increase when the info first came out. It is what it is and I pay it (monthly by automatic debit from my checking account).

Got the statement from Disney today as to what my dues payments per month will be as of January 15, and then on the first of the month thereafter. And I'm in shock.

My monthly payment went up $1.03--on 565 points (about 1/4 at BCV and the rest at SSR). Seriously, my payment is going from around $211 to around $212/month. That's $12.36 for the whole year.

???????

Can I trust that statement? Could it possibly be true?

Shocked in a good way or in a bad way? Are you glad its only $12? Or are you shocked it's as high as $12?

But obviously, since you have your bill - it is true.

Mine only went up $2 per month on 500 points.

Shocked in a good way--sorry that wasn't clear.

Mistakes happen, even on bills. And the payment is automatically drafted from my checking account...without going into all the boring details, if it's a significant error, it could mess up my checking account...

I know the only definitive way to find out if it's a mistake is to call and ask...(or to put enough money in the check account to accommodate a higher drafted-out amount if it is a mistake)...but I was so surprised I came here to find out if others had experienced anything similar...

Found a thread I hadn't seen before I started this one that suggests the monthly increase is so small because of a lower-than-expected property tax payment--

But most people are reporting $2-$3 per month increases, not $1/month increases...so I guess I'd best either put a few extra bucks in that checking account, or call DVC to find out if it's accurate...

We have 190 OKW points & 86 SSR points. MF's are now $8.00 more for the year!!!! WHA-HOO!!

It's pretty easy to see the property tax adjustments. They are shown in the first section where they show property tax actual less estimate you paid. What it really means is that DVC borrowed some of your money last year and now are giving you credit for that.

For us it appears that BLT and VGC taxes were underestimated. BWV, VWL and AKV were all overestimated.

Like others have said....its probably becasue you were charged more for your property taxes than what was actually needed. Check your statement. We have 160 SSR points and our payment for the year was $752.41 last year. This year it was adjusted to $752.00. We actually paid $0.41 less this year than last year. Less in dues is always a good thing!
