Due to a major water leak with a water bill over $1000, I am going to have to pay my dues on the monthly payment plan.
I was wanting to know if they charge any interest for doing this and if you pay it out over 12 months? Thanks for any info.:rolleyes1

They don't charge interest which is why I do it that way. (FREE MONEY LOL!) I have mine come out 1/12th each month.

This being our first time to pays the dues, how do you set up to pay monthly?

You will need to contact Member Accounting (it's one of the phone options when calling MS). They will need to have the banking information from a checking account since it is set up as an autodebit. You may need to send a voided check.

The first debit is on January 15 and then on the 1st of the month thru the end of the year. The first month will have 1/12th of the 2009 annual fees plus an adjustment for any definciency/surplus from the prior year and the December debit will balance out the total for the year. There is no service charge or interest for using the autodebit program.

Doc do you know if you can do it on a credit card? Would like to have my cake and eat it too......spread out over the year AND get my CC reward pts!

No, credit cards can only be done for the full annual amount.

If you choose monthly from a bank account, you will have the choice of the 1st or 15th of each month (January is always the 15th for everyone).

Here is what they told me to do...

FAX to 407-938-4117 to MEMBER ACCOUNTING

1 - Include your member number(s) & contracts you want to pay monthly.

2 - a copy of your check

3 - Tell them if you want to pay on the 1st or the 15th

4 - sign and date.

I got it all on one sheet and was set right up.

Thanks Doc and Judy (right down the road from me in WI!!!!)

Thanks for this information.Did you get an e-mail from member services or how did you know they got your info and have set you up? I faxed my info but when checking the home page it still shows an outstanding balance? Thanks a lot,

Arlene

If you are setting up montly payments for the annual dues, the first payment will not be taken out until 1/15/2009. You could call Member Accounting to verify if they received the information and updated your account.

I see on my statement that I can pay as late as 2/14 and it won't be considered past due. If I pay on 2/1, they won't cancel any of my existing reservations, will they?

I would think that you would have to be past the 'Past Due After' date before they cancelled any open reservations. You may want to call Member Accounting to verify.

Additional information from the member website:
When are Late Payments assessed and how do they affect my Vacation Points?

Late payments can impact your ability to make reservations and to bank and borrow Vacation Points. Any payment that is overdue, including but not limited to Annual Dues, Loans (if applicable), Member Getaways transaction fees and balances from Disney Vacation Club Resort stays, prohibits banking and borrowing of Vacation Points. In addition, if you are more than 90 days past due on your Annual Dues, this will cause a suspension of all activities, including the cancellation of any existing reservations. So please take note - to make the best use of your Membership, be sure to keep your account up to date!

FYI I just called them and they have our banking info for the loan we had (long story but it was to use our CC and get rewards) and they were able to set up the monthly pmts on the phone. Took about 5 mins tops, no papwerwork!
