From the mailings from DVC and posters input, here are the dues for 2004 at the DVC resorts...................if anything is in-correct please let me know in a post.:D

2004 Dues

OKW-$3.68
SSR -$3.80
HHI-$3.86
BCV-$4.17
VWL-$4.22
BWV-$4.25
VB - $4.67

$4.25 a point?!! I'm paying $4.25 per point at BWV?:earseek: Why?!! Aren't we finished painting YET? This is yet another reason why I should buy some OKW points!:teeth:

OK, so how much were they planning to charge me per point?

It's interesting that the gap between BWV, VWL & BCV has narrowed. When they first opened, VWL & BCV were much less than BWV. They are basically the same setup, I couldn't understand why they were so much lower. Now SSR is much lower, I wonder how long that will take to catch up. Maybe because they don't have to put as much into reserve when they first open?

In the past, the original dues numbers have almost always been reduced due to a credit for an overestimation of property taxes the previous year. I would expect the same thing to happen this year. Our dues credit last year for the property tax estimate was almost .20 per point (not sure how it was ultimately divided between our OKW and BCV points--I could figure it though).

Aren't they planning on changing the practice for overcharging on dues? I thought I read in the statement that was sent to the members that they are voting on that at the annual meeting. It has to do with money collected that turns out to be an overcharge from dues which will be put into a contingency fund for future improvements. I didn't like that idea because they could overcharge any amount they wanted, put it into a fund, and generate $$ in interest while waiting for something to spend the money on. It seemed awfully self-serving to me. I may have gotten it wrong however.......

I would think by law that if they over collect money from dues for a resort, any interest that the money will generate must go to that resort. It may be a way to help hold down a future increas due to a major repair.
