hiya,
was just wondering if any one had any ideas on this subject.
We're going to Orlando tarvelling out on october 31st next year and i know that the wizarding world of harry potter at IOA won't open till 2010, but even if the whole area is not open and Dueling Dragons has been completely rethemed will DD be open ??
Just wondering if anyone knew about this type of thing.
Cheers Lee

Nothing has been officially announced yet but about the only rumour I've heard is the queue will be shortened to make way for the new walkways and such. Other than that...I couldn't tell you.

I cann't see them closing one of thiere premier rides...

I highly doubt Universal will close down one of their most popular attractions unless they have to. From what I've heard, DD will most likely remain open during construction for guests, but will most likely be temporarily closed when they have to retheme the track to fit the new theme.

I heard that they were going to close it down to retheme it. That is what the guy at both between FF & MIB said. He said it will be closed and to enjoy it as much as we can now. He wasn't sure exactly when or for how long, but that it would be closed.

hopefully, it won't happen when i am there.

i'll have a melt down if that baby is closed then..............

i need to check out some other sites and see what they are saying about his.

i believe you but need to see what dates could be involved..

All I know is that there re-theming the magic unicorn into a 'buckbeak' themed ride.

DD is not one of the most popular attractions. There is usually only a 10-20 minute wait when the others (Spidy & Hulk) have a 50-60 minute wait! I can see them closing it down. I hate to say it though.....:sad2:

I don't think DD is going anywhere...too many people would revolt (namely me) but I do see them doing some rethemeing to the ride and queue.

the walls for new construction left DD open. DD is now down a dead end, but as of yest' very open.

We are going back in Oct and i really hope that it is open then, as this was one of the main things my bf was looking forward too :/

During slow seasons, YES, the line's short, but I have seen DD at waits of 30 minutes to 60. It all depends on what time you go down.

Dueling Dragons has a higher capacity(four trains running at once versus three for Hulk) thus causing shorter lines.Don't forget being tucked in the back of the park versus the front. In my opinion it is the best ride in the park,I can also see Hulk being removed from the park before Dueling Dragons,if you've ridden Hulk lately compared to when it first opened you know just how rough Hulk has gotten over the years, although that won't happen either.DD is running as good as ever and whenever it's decently busy the wait is between 30 and 75 minutes.

Last week (9/25 & 9/26) when I was at IOA, they do still have Dueling Dragons open. It does have a different entrance than normal and like someone said before, it's now down a dead-end. You walk towards Jurassic Park and the entrance to DD is actually under the JP archway. There are plenty of signs up that show the "Ministry of Magic" is at work for opening in 2010 for Harry Potter, but I'm sure they will keep DD open as long as possible. I think you should be fine since you're going in the next month.
