With the size restrictions on the HP version of Dueling Dragons, I'm just wondering-- if a person could ride Dueling Dragons comfortably (ie., fit), does one also "fit" on the HP version of the ride without worry? Did they revamp the seats that much or not at all? I'm just curious :confused3

I think that is a good assumption.

They rotated the locking mechanisms on the FJ ride. The seats themselves were not changed. So now, the clicks begin earlier than they used to, so fewer clicks are needed.

Mamajo: Just so there's no confusion, the new name of the Dueling Dragons coaster is Dragon Challenge. The name of the HP simulator attraction is Forbidden Journey. I haven't heard that the coaster seats have been modified in any way. I've heard the theming changed, but that's all.

You are correct. Dragon Challenge seats have not been changed at all.

I may have misinterpreted the post. I took it to read, if you can fit on Dragon Challenge, can you fit on Forbidden Journey? However, upon rereading, perhaps that wasn't what was asked at all!:lmao:

When Forbidden Journey opened I know a big issue was that not everone fit on the ride, this had never been a big issue on Dueling Dragons/Dragon Challenge,I'm sure there is a limit though.Last I heard Forbidden Journey did have some modification of some of the seats where it's not as big an issue as it was when it opened.I have to assume there still is a limit on size.

Not to worry, Damo, I had to read the original post twice myself. But I think she is definitely asking about any revisions to the Dragon Challenge seats, not Forbidden Journey. I'm no expert, though, as this is my first-ever visit to US / IOA. :confused3 I've just read these forums ad nauseum in preparation for our trip so I kind of feel like an expert.

Yes. There have always been regular and large seats on Dragons.

On FJ, all of the end seats had the restraint locking systems adjusted. The actual size of the seats was not changed, though.

Can you tell me which seats are larger on Dragons? I'm bottom heavy and can fit in the regular seats on FJ but had to be put in a modified seat on Rip Ride Rockit.

I assume DC seats are like The Hulk w/ an overhead harness. I'm not sure if I was in a modified seat on The Hulk, but fit in an end seat w/ no problem.

Thanks!

Can't remember which row but there is an entire row of modified seats on Dragon's Challenge. On each coaster, blue and red.

I'm sorry about the confusion of my initial question. See, I fit just fine on Dueling Dragons :thumbsup2 but was worried with all the talk of people not fitting on the HP version (and couldn't remember the new name-- Dragon Challenge--) I wondered if they changed the seats from when it was Fire and Ice to something I couldn't possibly fit in! If I fit in Fire and Ice, will I fit equally fine in it's renamed version? Was just the name changed and the seats left as they were. Sorry, guys!! Thanks for all the responses.

Rows 3 and 6 are modified seats on DD and Hulk.:thumbsup2

Thanks to the pp who answered.

I can't remember what row I was in for The Hulk so maybe I was directed to a modified row but didn't know it. But knowing before hand def makes things easier as we had to get off RRR for modified seat.

And I believe the answer to the OP is that only the theme changed on the coaster, not the ride/seats. Hopefully the lack of a wow factor with the change will be addressed w/ any subsequent expansions.

The seating hasn't changed from DD to DC.

If you are in a modified seat, then you with have two 'seatbelts' to plug in, instead of one.

Actually no one was talking about fitting on Dragon Challenge (aka Dueling Dragons). They were talking about a completely different and new ride, Forbidden Journey---which is the ride inside the brand new castle (Hogwarts).

The Dragon Challenge (aka Dueling Dragons) ride has not changed. Only the queue has changed.

Here are the modified seats on Hulk and Dragon Challenge:

The modified seats are on rows three and six of each train and are the ones with the double seat belt buckles. Try them out before you stand in line.
